Farmington Prison Release Paths
Farmington Correctional Center, often shortened to FCC, is a Missouri Department of Corrections institution in St. Francois County. It is not the county jail. A person leaving FCC can enter the community on parole, move into the conditional-release part of a sentence, reach full discharge, or remain confined after transfer to another MODOC prison. The event must be read in state records. A sheriff roster or county release sheet cannot establish what happened at this state facility.
Parole is a discretionary prison release made through the Missouri Parole Board. Conditional release is the supervised part of an eligible term-of-years sentence under Missouri law. Both can put a person outside the prison while MODOC supervision continues. Discharge is different because the sentence or supervision obligation has ended. An institution transfer changes the assigned prison but does not release the person into the community. These distinctions matter when a familiar Farmington location vanishes from an active result.

Confirm a Farmington Prison Release
The official MODOC Offender Search is the first check for FCC. Its landing page shows a data-current timestamp, which should be noted before searching. The tool accepts first and last name, aliases, or a MODOC offender number. The offender number is the cleaner match when available. Name searches require care because spelling, aliases, and similar names can return the wrong person.
This search covers active offenders. Active includes people held in an institution and people supervised in the field after a prison release. It expressly excludes discharged offenders. A Field assignment can support the conclusion that prison confinement ended while parole or conditional-release supervision continues. An Institution assignment supports current prison placement. A changed institution points toward transfer. No result proves none of those events by itself because a fully discharged record may no longer appear.

- Enter the MODOC offender number, or use the correctly spelled name and aliases.
- Match the DOC ID and identifying details before reading the status.
- Compare the assigned place and Field or Institution indicator.
- Check all displayed sentence rows and dates, then use records or the court case if the result is absent or unclear.
Farmington Release Search Limits
The public search and the corrections archive answer different questions. The live tool is strong for a person still under MODOC authority. It can connect an FCC history with a present field assignment or another institution. Once final discharge occurs, the person can fall outside the active population. That is why an old screenshot, a missing name, or an institution change cannot serve as a certified Farmington Correctional Center release record.
Missouri’s Adult Institutions retention schedule identifies Offender Discharge Files as a record series retained for 35 years after discharge. The file description reaches well beyond public release facts, and some parts remain closed. Retention does not give unrestricted access. It does show why a focused request for releasable discharge and sentence fields may succeed long after the active search stops returning a name. MODOC’s underlying Sunshine data also describe assigned place, a Field or Institution flag, a court cause number, sentence rows, completion flags, and minimum and maximum release-date elements.
A completion flag can apply to one sentence row rather than the whole set. Concurrent and consecutive cases can produce several rows for one DOC ID. Compare every relevant row with the cause number in Missouri Case.net. The nightly data extract can also change after correction and is not a certified release certificate.
Note: Preserve the agency’s exact labels and retrieval date instead of translating a field assignment into a final discharge claim.
Request Farmington Release Records
When the active search cannot settle the question, send a focused request through the MODOC Sunshine Law channel. Identify the person, DOC number, approximate confinement and release dates, court cause, and county of sentence. Ask for existing releasable records that show departure from FCC, the recorded event type, release or discharge date, receiving institution if transferred, field assignment, and sentence minimum or maximum release fields that apply. Request electronic delivery, an advance itemized estimate, and the open portions of any partly closed record.
The Office of Director Sunshine custodian uses OD.SunshineRequest@doc.mo.gov. Missouri Chapter 610 generally requires action as soon as possible and no later than the end of the third business day. If immediate access is unavailable, the custodian must explain the delay and give the earliest availability. That response period does not promise full production of a complex prison file in three days. Current law allows ordinary paper-copy and research charges within statutory limits, and prepayment may be required.
Section 217.075 controls access to individual offender material. Public status fields do not open the entire institutional file. Medical, treatment, classification, victim, security, and case-management material can remain closed. A narrow request for the release or discharge event is more useful than a demand for the complete file.

Farmington Release Records Contact
The official MODOC facilities list supplies the current FCC address and main telephone number. The institution can route a specific status question to the appropriate caseworker when the information is releasable. MODOC Constituent Services handles general offender-search questions and policy clarification through the department’s contact channel. Neither contact should be confused with the St. Francois County Sheriff, whose records concern county jail custody.

Call the main number for current institutional routing rather than assuming a staff name or office schedule. Do not use the address as proof that a person remains there. The live assigned place and direct MODOC confirmation answer that question more reliably. A request for a formal record should still go through the department’s Sunshine custodian.
After a Farmington Prison Release
A person released from FCC on parole or conditional release can remain active in MODOC records. The Division of Probation and Parole manages community supervision, while the Missouri Parole Board makes parole decisions. A Field location signals a community or field assignment, not final discharge. State probation can also produce an active field record even when the person never served time at FCC, so the sentence history must be checked before calling every field result a prison release.
District 12/Farmington Community Supervision Center is a local MODOC contact at 1430 Doubet Road. Residence in St. Francois County does not prove assignment to that office. MODOC or the supervising officer must confirm the correct reporting site when that information is public. For an authorized crime victim seeking DOC custody or release notifications, Missouri now directs registration to the Office of Victim Services. Local MOVANS registration is not the DOC notification route after the May 2026 service change.

Two St. Francois State Prisons
St. Francois County contains both FCC and Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center. That local fact changes the lookup. A broad search for a “Farmington inmate” can mix the county jail, FCC, ERDCC, and a local community-supervision site. The right first question is who had custody. County booking records belong to the sheriff. FCC and ERDCC confinement, transfers, release, and discharge belong to MODOC.
The distinction is especially useful when a county sentence leads to prison. A St. Francois County Jail sheet may show delivery to MODOC, which ends the county placement but does not free the person. The MODOC record then carries the next part of the path. If FCC later releases the person to supervision, an active Field record may remain. If the person transfers to ERDCC or another institution, prison custody continues. If final discharge removes the active result, the archive request and sentencing case become the fallback.
